About
Our mission
Alevi Rehberi aims to be a clear, sourced and neutral reference for anyone curious about Alevism, for Alevis themselves and for younger generations. Alevism is not uniform. We try to present the differences between ocaks, regions and traditions openly and respectfully.
Independence and neutrality
Alevi Rehberi is not affiliated with any federation, foundation, association, political organisation or state body, and does not speak on their behalf. We do not claim that one view is superior to another. Where interpretations differ, we say so openly.
How is content made?
Every entry starts with source research. We go through academic work, encyclopedias and publications by Alevi institutions, and include only what can be verified, together with its source. Where ocaks, regions or traditions differ, we say so explicitly. An editor then reads the text and checks its language, its neutrality and whether the sources support what it says. Every published entry is open to corrections from the community. If you spot a mistake, write to us through the “Spotted an error?” section below the entry. Every report is read, and the entry is updated where needed.
